What I learned today…

By timgrandstaff

Today I had the opportunity to take a trip with Brian to Indianapolis, IN. We are here for an evening panel about Church Planting with none other than the SBC!  I am wondering where on the planet I actually am at? As we boarded the plane in Atlanta it was obvious that the whole plane was full of Pastors. They all look alike. It’s kind of like a cult around here :) I’m glad we are just here for the night and that I didn’t end up in the actual “conference center”. As I spent tonight sitting in a room with about 150 people I realized a few things…

When I am reminded of the smell from my Grandad’s old suite – it’s time to upgrade.

When re-coloring your hair, anything purple tinted is not going to be in style.

There is something that attracts people when there is FREE food.

Carrying on a conversation at a normal volume is never going to happen in a room with Pastors.

Why does every one think they should be on Comedy Central?

Why do they wear name tags that say things like “soul winner” and “trained evangelist”? Name would do just fine.

Why do I keep getting asked – “How many does your church run?”

I just can’t get past a tie.

When they passed around Geritol instead of mints, I knew I had to leave :)

I have come to realize that this just ain’t my cup of tea :)

But I did get to see “Iron Man” and hang out with Brian!

Be home tomorrow.
